Events in Orlando

Orlando is home to the Orange County Convention Center, 2nd largest in the USA. And Vista Cay Resort is in the enviable position of being adjacent and walking distance to most of it.

The OCCC was recently awarded the coveted GBAC STAR™, an industry accreditation focused on ensuring a safe and healthy environment. The program establishes requirements to provide best practices, protocols and procedures to control risks associated with infectious agents.

The South and North Concourse is an easy 15 minute stroll from the resort and the West Concourse either a couple of minutes drive or a slightly longer walk. (See below for walking instructions which is also marked on area plan)

While the OCCC attracts c. 1.5 million attendees each year with shows of 100,000+ visitors, Orlando also offers many smaller venues for events and conferences.

The Hyatt Regency, opposite the West Concourse, on International (25 minute walk) hosts many smaller events with meeting space up to 315,000sf

Shingle Creek, just across the street from the resort and a 2 minute drive, also has conference facilities for The Ritz Carlton, which we see across the lake from Vista Cay and 2 Rosen Hotels close by on International Drive also hosts many smaller events.

  • Walking to the West Concourse

    For those of you who prefer to walk, here is how.…

    Walk, or drive, across Tradeshow and thru the OCCC parking lot (the only boring part) .

    If you drive, park close to the South entrance. It is a pleasant 15 – 18 minutes walk from this point.Head up the stairs (there is an elevator) to enter the South concourse.

    Enjoy a stroll thru the air-conditioned, carpeted building and out the far end which brings you onto the Skywalk – above the street level and with travelator/moving sidewalk sections. No roads to cross, quiet, quick and nice views!

    Pass by the Hyatt Hotel on your right and you find yourself entering the West building directly in to the Main Event Hall.
